She was the lady who, more than seven decades back, put her life at great peril for the lives of others. She was Irena Sendler, a non-Jewish who risked her all so that she could save as many as 2,500 Jewish children from the horrible fate that awaited them. To salute this colossus of kindness, the inaugural copy of the book ‘The other Schindler – Irena Sendler’ was released in the premises of Israel’s ‘Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial’. The solemn ceremony took place near a tree that has been planted by the great lady herself.
