This is a modern tale of an oasis blooming in what was once barren lifeless land. In an unprecedented social initiative, veteran freedom fighter and social activist Late Bhausaheb Thorat motivated the people to plant as many as four and a half crore seeds. This work, which took place in the surrounds of Sangamner Taluka, reached thousands of readers when it was given voice through a book by Aruna Antarkar. The Copy of this book was presented to Hon. Mrs. Pratibhatai Patil, the President of India in a special function organized in Rastrapati Bhavan. Hon.Mr. Balasaheb Thorat, Agriculture Minister of Maharashtra and Mr. Satyajit Tambe were present on this occasion.
