Malalai Joya is an Afghan politician who has been called ‘the Bravest Woman’ in Afghanistan. In May 2007, Joya was suspended from the parliament on the grounds that she had a large insulted fellow representatives in a television interview. Her suspension has generated a large protest internationally. Time magazine named Malalai Joya to the 2010 TIME 100, the magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
