Our Background : Ameya is a reputed book publishing company. Ameya has its antecedents in the printing and publishing business. It began operations 40 years ago as a printing press. The second-generation entrepreneurship led by Ulhas Latkar, a mechanical engineer by education has propelled its expansion into a full-fledged publishing company in 1993.
Mission Statement : To publish books that trace the evolution and success of distinguished personalities and high achievers. To motivate and inspire readers, and society at large, with the success stories of men and women who rose from anonymity to make a name for themselves in their sphere. To identify people whose stories are worth telling-pioneers and trailblazers who changed the rules of the game and are now role models.
Our Vision : Ameya sees itself as a publisher with a global vision. With its emphasis on disseminating the spirit of entrepreneurship through its publishing programme, Ameya will provide a unique platform for authors from all over the world. The company will actively source such material, develop it in collaboration with writers, publish and distribute it to a wide readership.
‘Ameya’ - Today and Tomorrow : Ameya has established a reputation for publishing books which are rich in content, creatively designed, attractively packaged and produced with the latest technology in the field of printing. With its emphasis on excellence and community building, Ameya has chosen to highlight the stories of extraordinary people who have made a mark in society. It has scrupulously avoided publishing controversial or provocative literature for easy business and publicity. Ameya has been honoured by ‘The Limca Book of Records’ for creating a National record in the field of Publishing (for bringing out 22 volumes comprising 8,413 pages on a single day). Apart from biographical books, Ameya also plans to publish contemporary literature reflecting the lives of people across the globe. Efforts are under way to associate with authors and agents from different parts of the world to source literature that will reach out to a variety of cultures and readers.
Industry Presence :
As a responsible member of the publishing fraternity, Ameya is a member of National level organizations: The Federation of Indian Publishers, New Delhi CAPEXIL, Promotion council of the Govt. of India for Books and Publications.
Ameya takes an active part in these associations and supports better trade practices in publishing.
